Adair,

This might be a cousin link somehow.
I wish my grandmother had let us meet the family and maybe this would really
not be as tough in trying to find info.
The Cenus records have my great grandparents in the town of San Joaquin in 1920
and 1930. They have my great grandmother's name spelled wrong. They have my
great grandfather and my grandfather's name as Geo Silva. My g uncle is listed
as Willie Silva. Other names are spelled incorrect at that time as well.
My mother Evelyn Catherine Silva was born around 1940 in the Manteca area. She
tells me her grandparents lived out in Merced county, but not specifically
where. They are buried outside of Escalon.
Her father's birth records are from San Rafael. Her father was a topper for one
of the lumber companies when she was a child. Do you have any family that
worked in the lumber industry?
I do know that the Silva side of our family would have an annual reunion in
Gustine every summer. I never attended it though.
I will go through some of my pictures and see if any have Borba for a name. I
use Archives.com, so I have the records I have found attached to the person in
my tree it goes to.
What sites have you used to get information from Sao Jorge? I use a translator
on my phone to translate for me. My husband thinks I am crazy to be searching,
but I am determined to find the line.
