Interesting my great grandfather was from Bretanha, He was living at 49 Pitman Street in 1927 when he died. Faria and Son Funeral home was at one time owned by the husband of my great aunt Anthony Faria. George Pacheco has done extensive research in Bretanha and might have some information.

He was born in Bretanha, Sao Miguel. He was buried June 17 from Faria and Son Funeral Home, mass at Espirito Santo Church and burial in their cemetery. The obit is online in the Diario de Noticias newspaper at UMASS Dartmouth, June 17, 1957 issue. He arrived in Boston 16 Dec 1915 at age 36, leaving his wife Maria C. Aguiar in Bretanha. Now that you know he was born in Bretanha 17 apr 1879, you can go to the Family History Center and look up the film. It will give you his parents and grandparents names. From there you may be able to find his parents if they came here.
