Repost for Katharine Baker: Over the past dozen years I've actually worn out three different Portuguese-English paperback dictionaries. None of them was bad, but my favorite has been the Harper Collins Portuguese Dictionary -- now in shreds, so I really should buy a new copy! -- because it shows the most examples of words used in context and in idiomatic phrases.
