My great grandfather, Francisco Machado Drummond, married his niece
and 1st cousin, Maria Constancia, in São Sebastião - Terceira, their
marriage certificate states "primeiro e segundo grau de
consanguinidade collateral" [first and second degree of
consanguinity], as they were uncle/niece as well as 1st cousins. They
marriage last only 3 years as she died, and two years after, he
married my great grandmother Thereza Lopes, in Rio de Janeiro, 1995.
