Mike's question was would a visit to the Azores be recorded in the church
records somewhere (or that's how I read it with the typos).  Altino was
right, the church would not do that.  They would only record church events.

What you are speaking of are the margin notes which happened in the Azores
as well.  One can find a baptism and in the margin it will note that that
the person married and to go see record number XXX, or the person died and
go see record number YYY.  And yes, if the first spouse died, the margin
many contain the 2nd marriage as well.

IF (and only if) the person notified their church in the Azores would their
American or Canadian marriage be recorded in the margin.  I've seen very
few of these.  Very rare, at least in the freguesias I research.

But visits back home would not be recorded.
