My great-grandfather's passport was from the King of Portugal around the
same time as your ancestor left the Azores. M ine lived on Terceira.
I have no idea how I came across it but my Dad may have had it.

Would he have needed a passport to leave the Azores and since he was
from Faial and probably left from that port would a record of passport
be there and would it show his village of origin?
