Hi all, I have been searching for William Jason Wood for 8 years - Joao Ventura has searched for his wife for me to no avail.
I think I may have found something, but don't know how to proceed - According to his Naturalization (March 5, 1853)) he arrived in New Bedford aboard the Bark Martha on or about Jan 10, 1844(?) from Fayal- His birthday is October 5, 1830. On His marriage certificate (1855) he has the same birthday Oct 5, 1830 and lists his parents names as Jacento and Gacia In searching in neps, I found on Madalena the following Antonio Rosa Garcia 1791-1848 Maria Jacinta 1791-1872 11 children one of which was named Andre born 1829. On the Bark Martha which left new bedford on 8/3/1844 there is a Greenhand sailor picked up on Pico Azores 8/29/1844 his name is ANT GAREIA. All too close (I think) I really feel that this may me him, but don't know who to tie eveything together. All of his records are for Willialm J Wood except the Martha's record and the marriage record. Any help will be appreciated.
