Hi Eliseu,

Because they have no Portuguese in the reference population. They have
only Spanish, French, Basque, and the Ornkey Islands. It says at the top
of the Population Finder page that it is in Beta. They are supposed to
release a new Population Finder sometime this year with more populations in
it. Last year, they did a survey of those who had done Family Finder who
had ancestors born in another country besides America. Those are to be
included as well.

My dad is half Portuguese and they put him with French! And he has no
French that I can find. His "American" half is made up of a lot of British
Isles ancestry: English, Irish, Scottish, Welch. He has one German line
back 200 years ago (same line as my mom!)

Your matches: Take a look at George Pacheco's tree (the blue button
underneath the name of your match). Look at Trevor Todd Costa. Stephen J.
Rapoza. Nancy Lee Couto. They all have trees. William L. Boyd has
Graciosa. It might be easier to start with him since Graciosa is fairly
small and it would be easier to find his Graciosa lines in his tree.

I will work with Laura Gelvin to get her tree up. She's newer to
genealogy. She came to our conference in Utah (She lives there). She's
younger, maybe about 30, and has at least one daughter. She's of mixed
ancestry. Not only Portuguese, but Cape Verde and other stuff that I can't
remember. She doesn't post a lot on the list but is a member.

Cheri
