No historic cemetery lists exists.  The Azores are islands.  So they used
to bury people for a period of time (7 years, I believe, or thereabout) and
then they were disinterred and the remains (bones) were placed in a common
crypt and their grave reused.

The vast majority of us on this list are NOT native speakers.  Many of us
had to learn to "read" the Portuguese in order to pursue our genealogy.  It
wasn't easy, but many of us now "read" and we "translate" for others. It
can be done.
