After deciphering the fancy penmanship Manuel de Medeiros' second surname appears to be Timoteou; and, the second link refers to Manuel Rodrigues [Bitancurt]. There appears to be an "o" at the end, but, I believe that to be just a "flourish" as found on many other words written in this style. Whatever way it is spelled, no one will ever mistake the fact that the name is, in fact, "Bettencourt." :)
