Thanks to you and Pam! Here’s a follow-up.
I was able to find the parents, grandparents, etc., back 4 generations in the NEPS database by searching for the names of the parents of the godmother, Luisa. I searched the NEPS databases for several places for the names of the parents of Maria and could not find them, but when I looked for the godmother Luisa and her parents, Jose Furtado Pereira and Catarina Tomasia Felicia (listed after Luisa). I found that Maria’s father and the godmother were cousins and found them as they are listed in NEPS. Catarina was the sister of <http://www.ghp.ics.uminho.pt/geneweb/gwd.exe?b=FETEIRA;lang=en;p=ana+tomasia+de+sao;n=jose> Ana Tomásia de São José, mother of Tomas Inacio Pereira. Sorry if this isn’t clear, but it’s late. Anyway, now I will go to the CCA site and find the records to support what’s in NEPS. (Not tonight, though.)
