If Catarina Dias, wife of Salvador Lucas (from Terceira) is one of your direct ancestors, you might be interested that I have located a descendant who is willing to get the mt-DNA test to discover her haplotype. I estimate she was born about 1600.
I am not aware of her being a relative to me yet, so does not qualify for my project which I describe here:
