Hi,
I am having trouble translating this marriage record, http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/FAL-HT-FETEIRA-C-1720-1 766/FAL-HT-FETEIRA-C-1720-1766_item1/P34.html, second entry on the left side. The groom and bride are supposed to be Manuel Dutra da Rosa and Domingas Pereira. Please excuse the lack of diacritical marks in some of the names. It looks like the groom is Manuel Dutra da Rosa, son of Manuel Dutra da Rosa, deceased and Maria Silveira, born in Castelo Branco. I can't figure out the names after Castelo Branco. It looks like Manuel (groom) is the widower of Maria da Brum, daughter of Antonio de Dutra and Maria de Brum, but I can't make out the rest of the sentence. Domingas appears on the next line as the daughter of Joao de Serpa and Maria ?, deceased, daughter? of Joao da Rosa, son of Manuel Rodrigues and Maria Furtado, deceased, born in Cedros. According to NEPS, Manuel was married to Maria da Brum and Domingas was married to a Joao da Rosa, prior to this marriage. Do I have the names correct. It doesn't make sense as I am seeing it. It would make sense if Domingas were listed as the widow of Joao da Rosa. Or I am translating incorrectly or is NEPS completely off? Please help me mae sense out of this.
