I think I found the record. Maybe someone could validate this. Left side, married on 30 Oct 1757 Jose Raposo the groom, son of Francisco Lopes and wife Catarina de Deus or da Luz, and the bride Antonia Margarida daughter of Antonio Andrade and Engracia de Alpoim all of the parish of NS da Asssuncao. If it is Alpoim I have never seen that name. I have see Paim or Payim in some records, so I'm not sure, but it sure looks like Alpoim to me.
It doesn't look like the priest recorded the bride and groom's ages. Herb

I would start with the assumption she could be as young as 15.
While searching for her, also look for any of her siblings. You are bound to find some.

To: azores@googlegroups.comIf I'm reading this correctly, the record on the right, my Francisco Raposo married Umbellina Francisca on 11 July 1802 in Sao Jose, and he was baptized in NS da Assuncao in island of Santa Maria. I will need to do some double and triple checking, but this is likely my first ancestor born outside Sao Miguel with the exception of some from Terceira. Anyway, this means that he was likely born in 1770 or late 1769, which would be more or less (mais ou menos) 32 years from 1802. So I checked every record in Matriz da NS da Assuncao from 1765 to 1774 3 times and came up empty. Should I check other villages in the only concelho in that island. Just wondering if maybe there was some event there involving the parishes and baptisms were actually recorded somewhere else?Thanks, Herb
