Al, they would have to have Dropbox installed as well. Once they do, you would 
be able to right click on the folder containing your file and "share" it with 
one of your contacts. That person would receive an email saying that "Al" want 
to share a folder, accept or not.

If you google share Dropbox folders on YouTube, I'm sure there would be a video 
to take you through step by step visually.
