Please keep abbreviations to a minimum. When in doubt, spell it out. We have list members whose first language is not English. They run your message through online translations. If you are using the cutesy abbreviations and typing "idk" for "I don't know" or what have you, they have no idea what is going on. If they are a potential cousin, they won't be contacting you, as your messages do not make sense and the online translators don't know the American slang acronyms. So, please, spell things out and keep abbreviations to those that have been standard for a couple of hundred years (Apr is April, for example).
