There is a Manuel de Mello listed as 794 (?) hard to read #'s.  Medeiros was my 
grandmother's maiden name.  #815 I think would have made him too old if he was 
born in 1866.  Supposedly he was only 15 when he went to Hawaii.
I found a "stowaway" on a ship in 1881 for a Manuel Mello - no other info 
however!
Unfortunately I cannot read Portugese....

Hi Jo ,here is who I believe to be your grandfather.He is number 815  on the 
passport  registration dated Nov.24 1880 destination Sandwhich isalndsHis 
parents are listed to the right of his name. He was from Santa Cruz Lagoa,Sao 
Miguel Island.Also here is his Birth record .All the names match up.He was born 
May 17,1858Also states he was single on his passport. Hope this helps Joe
