d’Agueda e de seu primeiro marido Thome Jose Silveira, natural e freguês 
desta Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rozario da Villa Nova do topo, Ilha de São 
Jorge e moradora no Arrabalde do Norte, nasceo em os nove dias do mez 
d’Agosto do anno de mil oitocentos e doze e foi baptizada em os doze dias 
do dito mez e anno, nesta mesma Matriz, pelo reverendo Thomé Gregorio 
Teixeira, vigario della. Forão padrinhos o reverendo Antonio Caetano de 
Souza, thezoureiro da mesma Matriz, e Antonia Silveira, filha de Jozé 
Antonio Souto e de sua mulher dita Anna Silveira d’Agada. E para constar 
fiz este termo, que assigno com os mesmos reverendos ministros. Era supra.

Antónia, daughter of Maria Silveira and unknown father, maternal 
granddaughter of Ana Silveira de Águeda and her first husband Tomé José 
Silveira, native of Topo, São Jorge Island, where she lived in Arrebalde do 
Norte, was born on 9 August 1812 and was baptized on the 12th, in Topo, São 
Jorge Island. Godparents were the priest treasurer António Caetano de Sousa 
and Antónia Silveira, daughter of José António Souto and his wife Ana 
Silveira de Águeda, above mentioned. Witnesses were the godfather and the 
priest João Ivo de Bettencourt.

Note: on the margin it is written that she was recognized by the father and 
this declaration in the book of baptisms 12, fl. 31v.

prezença de mim, Antonio Ignacio da Silveira, cura da Matriz de Nossa do 
Rozario desta Villa Nova do topo, Ilha de São Jorge, compareceo Manoel José 
da Cunha, cazado com Maria de São Joze, e por elle foi dito que estando 
espozado com a dita sua mulher, delle dera esta à luz em os nove dias do 
mez d’Agosto do anno de mil oitocentos e doze, hua filha, por nome Antonia. 
E porque no termo do baptismo desta se não declarou quem era seo pay, agora 
cumprindo os deveres de sua consciência, faz a prezente declaração, em que 
reconhece por sua filha a dita Antonia e por verdade do que assima, perante 
mim e testemunhas Antonio Borges d’Azevedo e Estevão Pereira Vieira, todos 
moradores nesta Villa. Era ut supra.

On 7 April 1817, in Topo, São Jorge Island, appeared before the priest, 
Manuel José da cunha, married to Maria de São Jorge and he declared that

of Antónia, born on August 9, 1812, in Topo, São Jorge Island, who was 
registered as daughter of unknown father, and actually is his daughter, to 
relieve his conscience. Witnesses were António Borges de Azevedo and
