My grandfather, John Antonio Borba at age 11, first settled in the San Luis
Obispo area of California in 1901; and lived there for about 10 years. He
then moved south to the desert of Brawley and El Centro, He and his
brothers finally settlied in the Chino/ Ontario, area of California in
about 1924 and remained there for the rest of their lives. We know of no
other close Borba family in California. I sure wish we did. I have
verified this with my last surviving aunt , age 92, who has a very good
memory of people and family history.
