Arline Silveira, long time member of this list and a genealogist for more than 25 years has passed away.

She was born December 17, 1934 in San Jose to Joseph and Mary Azevedo, and was the youngest of three children. She grew up on a dairy in East San Jose and graduated from James Lick High School at age 16. She married Jerome Silveira on May 18, 1952 and raised five children. They were involved in school activities and they enjoyed camping with friends and family. She also had a love of animals and the outdoors, and was a docent at the Youth Science Institute. She was also very active in 4-H activities for several years. She attended San Jose State University in the fall of 1982 until she moved to Shell Beach in December of 1983 and attended Cal Poly studying zoology and computer science. She loved living by the ocean. Arline enjoyed doing stained glass projects, making jewelry by lost wax casting method, creating quilts for family members and many other arts and crafts. She loved books and had always read daily. She enjoyed doing jigsaw and word puzzles and logic problems. She was a square dancer for several years and had many friends. She spent many years doing Azorean genealogy and helped many people find their ancestors. She loved traveling, especially to her beloved Azores Islands. She is survived by her children Randy Silveira of San Jose, Toni Wallace of Reno, Jeri Silveira Corvinus of Valley Springs, CA, Lori Williams (Rick) of Grover Beach, Lisa Gularte of Arroyo Grande and eight grandchildren: Loren Green Silveira, Shawn Wallace, Jessalyn Wallace, Christopher Corvinus, Johnathan Corvinus, Danny Williams, Bailee Gularte and Kody Gularte. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Philbert Azevedo and her sister Elaine Alderete. Mass will be at St. Pauls Church on Bello St. in Pismo Beach on Saturday September 24th 2016 at 1:00pm, reception to follow at hall.
