Sandra, I descend from Manuel de Sousa Dias and his 1st wife Madalena da Costa. I have no information on Baltazar Gonçalves and didn´t know his daughter Maria took the name Botelho. When did she marry and when was her son Antonio baptized? I don't have this information.
Maybe the surname Botelho came from Baltazar Gonçalves. Many of the first Botelho's kept the patronymic Gonçalves. I know that Simão de Sousa was baptized in São Roque on 1 nov 1627 - CCA #40 and it seems that Baltazar Gonçalves died in São Roque on 10 dec 1633 - CCA #40 and Catarina de Sousa on 20 aug 1665 - CCA #75.
