Roberta Estes wrote a good article explaining the Big Y test (this is the expensive one): https://goo.gl/V3zDD1 It's not designed for genealogy in the sense that it's going to help you find more recent cousins. It can help you find "genetic" cousins - people whom you connect with in the year 1500 B.C or the year 2000 B.C. If that type of history interests you and you have the money for the Big Y, go right ahead. But read Roberta's article first so you understand what the test is designed for.
