Samantha, You are not ready to start researching in the Azores. You need to do more work in the U.S. first. It would be similar to someone posting that their ancestors came from America to England, yet they can't even provide the state in America.

When I search the Azorean passaportes, I start searching there on the date the ship arrived in America (yeah, I know the ship didn't get to America in 1 day, but I don't want to miss them either) and I go back about a couple of months.
