In looking at baptism records of Vila do Porto, Santa Maria island, I need some clarification as to the Godparents in the attached right side, bottom record.
I see the following: Godparents Luís António Maximo Pereira and Leonor Maxima Pereira, residents of São Miguel, by proxy [*representatives for, or represented by*] Manoel Barbosa Pacheco and Dona Maria Mequelina da Conceição, sister of the baptized.
