I have several great grandparents of the Pires family but can’t find much information about them. It appears they might have been prominent in the early days of Brazil in the 1500’s to early or mid 1600’s. Does anyone know the history of the Pires families around that time. I have particular interest in Salvador (1565); Salvado (1540); Sebastio Rodrigues Pires (1650) and Sebastio Rosa Pires (1669); Joao (O Gato) Pires (1505). These are all my Great GreatGrandparents (there are more). I would appreciate information on the individuals or at least some history of the Pires families.
