OK I admit I spent two years in Italy and in my old age sometimes forget where
I am :-o ! Hopefully by this time next week I will have more blood flowing to
my brain.

Venti is Italian, I think. Vinte is 20 in Portuguese. He died on the 20th and
the note written on the 22nd.

I see Ribeira as well. I'm not familiar with all the small places in Santa
Barbara on Santa Maria island. I can't see Bermuda, or any English sounding
names. I think Bermuda has English sounding cities, like Hamilton.

Hi Rick,

I'm so totally out of practice so not sure why I looked:) but I took the
writing to say venti de Agosto? I never get do do das dos in my head so you may
be right:)

It says he died in the place of Ribeira of some name I can't read (I've never
researched here) in parish of Santa Barbara.

That’s two that have said it is the 20th when he died. Can anyone else weight
in on the place of death? Is it Santa Barbara or Bermuda?

Thanks, Susan, Rick and Cheri for your help!

Hello; Can someone please take a look at this side margin note and see if they
can decipher it for me? I think it might include his obit date. It’s Manoel,
bottom right, I think it says #26. I’ve been able to get all the pertinent
information from the body of the document but; haven’t a clue what the margin
note is about. Thanks in advance..
