An update here - I have located one of the sisters that I mentioned below. Maria Conceicas married Charles Mello and also, along with her sister Mercedes, moved to Cambridge. Mary, as she was known, died in 1973 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They had two children, Anthony and Alice. Also, to add to the Menezes/Ledo children below, I believe there was also a son, Angelo, who remained in Ribeira Grande. This is according to the immigration paper that lists the contact remaining in the country of origin. I have just unearthed a photo of Mercedes' trip to Ribeira Grande in the 1970s, and it is her with, I believe, Angelo.
