The match that cinched it was actually a 1st 1x from Ancestry.com, however, that alone wouldn't have solved this. Matches from ftdna, 23andme and MyHeritage, and 9 years of genealogical research ---- well, that is what did it! In addition, without the help of my Primo George Pacheco, teaching me to read Portuguese and all about Sao Miguel, I would have never figured it out. In addition..... John Miranda!!!! I am so proud to be Azorean, with ancestry from Bretanha.... I am already planning my trip to the homeland of my ancestors.
This is absolutely incredible.... and get this.... my father moved from Seekonk, MA to Coventry, RI.... where I now live, about 15 years ago. He lives about 1.5 miles from my home. My son knows and went to high school with my father's great niece, my 1st cousin 1x rem. It is unreal!!! He was literally right under my nose!
