Just know that Lajes could mean Lajes itself or somewhere in the council
(county) of Lajes.

And just because Manuel was accurate on his birth does not mean that
Lucinda was. Luckily, the name Lucinda is no where near as popular as
Manuel. So look at every Lucinda for a dad named João Rodrigues and  a mom
named Luisa (Luiza) Rosa. You might have to look a couple of years on
either side of your April 1866 date.
