Hi Mara, thank you for your reply. Since i last posted i was able to check 
what that link is all about. It's an index of something called *Índices do 
Cartório da Mitra de Angra*, that is slowly becoming available in the 
*Atlântida* magazine, and can be helpflul to Genealogy.

In adition, a relative of mine found the death record for the priest José 
Jacinto Ferreira Pimentel. He died in 1888 at the age of 54 in Ribeira Chã, 
and it states that his parents were from *Villa da Lagoa*. I tried to 
shearch the matching period of his birth, but so far nothing. 

Anyone came across his parents?

José Jacinto Ferreira & Maria dos Anjos from "Villa da Lagoa" (São Miguel)
