is the multicast packet actually multicast over the air? or is it a lot of unicast packets?

When the network is encrypted, how can they encrypt the multicast packet so that all nodes can hear it?

2, 5, 10 STAs?

The per-STA-queue work should make that relatively easy, by allowing the
packet to be dumped into each STA's queue...
