Are the IDs of articles published on bbc unique per article without
time limit? Or are the IDs reused with time.

Earlier today an article was published with the following url and title:

URL: http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/sport1/hi/tennis/4620079.stm
ID: 4620079
Published: 24/06/2005 16:23:55

Later an second article was published using the same URL/ID:

URL: http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/sport1/hi/tennis/4620079.stm
ID: 4620079
Sometimes the BBC modify articles. If so, the ID remains the same. Its very cheeky and annoying because the articles can change significantly. Sometimes its a spelling mistake that they are correcting, sometimes it's a complete change of angle on the story!

I think Reuters do it differently and issue a different ID and mark it as an update of a previous article.
