I found that my IE7/8 tabs started loading WAY fster as soon as I went into Accelerators/BHO options and disabled the Java Quick Start. By turning that one thing off I reduced tab load times from 5-10 seconds to around 3/4 of a second. Not perfect but a vast improvement! - Sent via the backstage.bbc.co.uk discussion group.
