I didn't mean to include file creation in this list.

Normally a new file is created with a current mtime,
so it will be detected and backed up during an
incremental.  However, cp -p, unzip, tar -x are ways
of creating new files that have old mtimes, so they
will be missed in a tar or smbclient incremental.
