Given what you're trying to do, however, I suspect not.

Regarding realtime mirroring, i'd suggest looking into the linux nbd
(network block device) or a commercial solution like veritas volume
manager.  Sounds like you're running a production system so buying a
commercial product would probably be a reasonable solution.
