Sorry to reply to myself...the exclusions in the \ (backslash) version DO work. I just realized that I was erroneously still looking at the old (wrong) logfile... :( I think the docs should mention that, for smb, a backslash must be used. Thanks to everybody for the replies. Anyway, the summary still shows 3 errors: write_data: write failure.
