I am further testing my Backuppc setup. I just attempted to do a restore of I temporary directory that I created the night before in the /etc directory. I deleted the directory and attempted to do a restore. I get the following error in the log:

Running: /usr/bin/sudo rsyncPath --server --numeric-ids --perms --owner --group --devices --links --times --block-size=2048 --relative --ignore-times --recursive --checksum-seed=32761 . /etc/gallery2/
Xfer PIDs are now 12412
Got remote protocol 1936941392
Fatal error (bad version): Password:
Checksum seed is 1685221239
Got checksumSeed 0x64726f77
[ skipped 3 lines ]
exiting after signal INT
Restore failed: aborted by user (signal=INT)

I am running a Ubuntu server and passing to the rysnc command the '/usr/sbin/sudo' as noted in the error. Now if I attempt to restore to a directory or file that already exists I still get the same error message but the logs indicate that perhaps something was restored despite the error. I am wondering more and more if I should have setup to use the tar based backup instead of a rsync method. What are your thoughts on the above error message and on the differences between rsync and tar.

Thanks,

Randy G.
