I don't know if anyone is interested. I worked on the integration of backupPC on SME server. It's a very good GNU/linux distrib and if you want some more informations on it, you can go to http://contribs.org
I (and some others of the community contribs.org) use my contrib on several production servers. It's based on v 2.1.2pl2 and provided as a simple rpm to install. I added a cgi panel for the configuration which is integrated in the main panel of the server (the server-manager), it lets you: - manage the host list - modify most of the parameters in the general config.pl file - generate a custom config.pl file per host - periodically export all your data to an (or several) offsite server(s) - periodically archive the selected host as standards tar or tar.gz archives and optionnally, export the archives to an offsite server or move them to any local directory (external hard drive for exemple). It should also works for tape device but I haven't tested. I think the last two functions are missing in backuppc. It would be great if they were included in v3 You can find the contribution and the installation how-to at: http://sme.firewall-services.com/backuppc -- Daniel Berteaud FIREWALL-SERVICES SARL.
