backuppc machine.
Are you using 3.0.0beta? In 3.x, $Conf{ClientCharset} specifies the
client's charset encoding. BackupPC_tarCreate converts all the file
names back to that encoding, plus it supports a "-e charset" option
that allows you to override the charset encoding.
