I had considered using rsync, unfortunately, my backup server (2.5GHz P4 with 
dual 250GB drives) only has 128MB of RAM. IIRC, rsync's memory consumption 
spirals based on the number of files in the list.

I will be getting more RAM for this box, but I need to get it up asap so I can 
get some other tasks done.
