Carl, I am trying to calculate the amount of disk space used by a single machine. Currently I run du -hs /var/lib/backuppc/pc/machinename to get the disk space used by machinename. The problem is that this is very disk intensive and can cause problems when I am running backups around the clock. I was wondering if I could get the same data by parsing the XferLOG. I suspect not because of things like compression, etc., but I figured I would ask to be sure.
cheers, ski Carl Wilhelm Soderstrom wrote: > On 01/07 10:32 , Ski Kacoroski wrote: >> I would like to know the disk used by each host on the server. > > not quite sure what you're asking. > > let's back up. what problem are you trying to solve? > -- "When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it connected to the entire universe" John Muir Chris "Ski" Kacoroski, [EMAIL PROTECTED], 206-501-9803 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
