Thanks Johan,
You pointed me in the right direction, my sss-wrapper script did not have
the full path for ssh. My server is getting backed up right now ! I found it
by removing the output to null.

Hi,
The tunnel is not opened correctly from the script. You can see what is
going
wring by doing the following:
Run the tunnel manually, and start the backup from BackupPC within 20 secs.
If
that works you may have something wrong in the usernames or such (is your
key
based authentication OK, or is SSH still asking for a password?).
The most probable scenario is that your SSH is waiting for a password
because
the wrapper never returns with success. In that case, read the BackupPC
FAQ for
the solution.
If that doensn't help we'll look into it further. It's not very complicated.
