Personally, I'd use CentOS and rebuild the src rpm from here: 
http://dev.centos.org/centos/4/testing/SRPMS/ if I couldn't find 
something more recent.  Or if I had to use a Debian flavor I'd go with 
Ubuntu just because they actually try to follow release schedules.
