backuppc+rsync requests checksum for file from remote system remote rsync transmits backuyppc+rsync checks checksum+filesize in rsyncsum+filesize => poolsum table if there is a match, copy or link file from pool to destination file else download the file I'm not sure what the risk of duplicate rsync hashes is, but what does backuppc do now with that possibility during rsync? I suppose it is used more for determining if a file has changed more than if two files are the same?
