> This brings up an interesting topic though. A BackupPC network
consisting of multiple BackupPC servers with a central BackupPC
management console. It would save us considerable amount of time if able
to manage children BackupPC servers from a parent. I will see what I can
contribute here as well but I would be interested in what the BackupPC
community feels about this.
Nice to see people with this kind of configuration.
I was thinking to put a mail about this topic on the mailing-liste.

I have some clients where I install a PC running BackupPC to backup their
local computers (PC, MAC...). I want to keep the BackupPC box small, with
only recent backups.

I would like to backup all the files of each local BackupPC to a central
place (in a DataCenter with enough storage) with rsync.
>From the central server, if I connected directly with rsync a local
BackupPC server I got the problem that there is many many hard links and
it is not free. The local rsync process crunchs all the RAM and dies.

I wonder if it is possible and easy that each local BackupPC server keeps
a list a the new files recently seen, and send it to the central server
when asked for ? This would reduce the work of all servers and speed it
up.
