Hmm, I just sent a post to the group and I afterwards realized that I
could be reporting a bug that's already been solved. From the
changelog for 3.1.0beta0:
* Fixed bug in rsync incrementals that happens on particular
file names when a file being backed up fails in both rsync
phases. Reported by Dan Smisko.

Since I'm running 3.0.0, I'm guessing I'll need to upgrade. I'm a
total id10t when it comes to installing new versions of the software
manually (I just use apt-get on my debian boxes, and if necessary us
package pinning). I've emailed the maintainer, but in case he doesn't
respond, anyone have a source on a Debian package for 3.1.0?
