I am using BackupPC to wake up my PC by calling wakeonlan in a
NmbLookupFindHostCmd script as described here:
http://www.mail-archive.com/backuppc-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg01419.ht
ml

The good news is this wakes up the PC prior to starting a backup.

The bad news is that BackupPC appears to call NmbLookupFindHostCmd every
hour per the WakeupSchedule. So my PC gets turned on every hour even when no
backup is required.

Why is NmbLookupFindHostCmd being called this often, and is there a way to
stop it? Or is there a better way to implement wakeonlan?

This is a home network with all PC's using DHCP and there is no DNS.
BackupPC is running on Ubuntu 8.04.

Thanks for the help!

Dave
