To be complete you would probably need to also do the following: 1. On the original (non-alias) version of the host, exclude the mount point for the USB disk 2. On the alias version, set the share name to start the backup at the mount point 3. Set DumpPreUserCmd to test to make sure the usb disk is mounted and return non-zero exit status if not. This makes sure that the alternate host is only backed up if the disk is mounted.
