After a reboot I got the following values: Before launching any BackupPC process: total used free shared buffers Mem: 30412 21884 8528 0 9480 Swap: 500508 0 500508 Total: 530920 21884 509036 After launching '/etc/init.d/backuppc start': total used free shared buffers Mem: 30412 27392 3020 0 7540 Swap: 500508 0 500508 Total: 530920 27392 503528 After launching '/usr/local/BackupPC/bin/BackupPC_serverMesg status info': total used free shared buffers Mem: 30412 29228 1184 0 4932 Swap: 500508 0 500508 Total: 530920 29228 501692 Seems that swap space isn't even needed. I am astonished, too, because free shows 24, 22, and 16% memory usage by the three BackupPC processes, whereas the above figures seem to show that the BackupPC processes just need additional 7,5 MB which is less than 25% of the device's 32MB RAM. Strange, isn't it? Christoph ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
