For anything any of us (consumers of free backup products) are likely to do, anything stronger than original DES is probably fine.

The take home is: avoid DES due to the short length of its key. 3DES is secure (30+ years of use), but slow. Blowfish has a good reputation for being fast, simple, and secure. If you're paranoid, think about AES, but remember the recent advisories concerning AES keys >= 128-bits.
